If you want to pass parameters inside your query builder in a strongly typed dataset, you must be careful with the wild character that you use. In case of MS SQL Server as database, you can pass parameter using ‘@’ but in case of Access/MySQL you would need to use ‘?’
SELECT EmpName, EmpEmail FROM Emp WHRE EmpID = @EmpId –FOR MS SQL SERVER
SELECT EmpName, EmpEmail FROM Emp WHRE EmpID = ? –FOR Access/MySQL
If you are not aware about this fact then you can go round in circles for ages till you realised that although its a typed dataset belonging to asp.net(microsoft), it basically honors the syntax for SQL as required by the underlying database.
